The 4-storey single-family house was built at the beginning of the 1920s as one of the realizations of the Housing Cooperative of the Professors of the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology. Its total area is 680 m², while the plot area is 612 m².
On level −1 there are utility rooms (boiler room, server room, watch room, laundry room with a drying room), as well as a ventilated wine cellar, a guest bedroom with an independent bathroom, a winter dressing room and a soundproofed music room.
The first floor is a representative area – a large hall paved with Spanish sandstone leads to a living room with a fireplace connected to the dining room. A beautiful original French parquet floor and a 19th century mirror hanging over the fireplace attract the attention. The kitchen is fitted with materials such as marble and sandstone; the white goods are Miele and the traditional looking gas-electric stove is La Cornue.
The so-called Professor’s Colony is one of the most charming corners of Warsaw’s Downtown. The complex of eighteen single-family houses for professors of the Warsaw University of Technology was built in the 1920s in the area between Górnośląska, Myśliowiecka and Hoene-Wroński Streets. All but one of the houses (the house of Prof. Romuald Gutt) were built in the manor style.
The location of the Professors’ Colony is very attractive – nearby are such places as the Royal Baths, Rydz-Smigly Park, Ujazdowski Park, Tadeusz Mazowiecki Park, the Royal Route and Agrykola Street. It is close to the Vistula River, the National Museum or the Legia Stadium. There are also some of Warsaw’s best restaurants nearby – Atelier Amaro, Belvedere, Brasserie Warszawska, Dyletaci or Rozbrat 20.
